Vine and Branches

I am studying the books James and Philippians and I’m learning a lot.  In James I am learning about producing good fruits through my faith.  I am finding that I have  lots of dead branches  hanging on me that I haven’t let God prune off me.  I don’t know why I haven’t let him prune the dead branches but I am learning that I need to.  I am noticing those dead branches being a barrier between God and I.

Then in studying Philippians I have also learned a few things so far.  I haven’t gotten much into it yet but it’s going to be a great study.  Learning the relationships that I have with other Christians are not the way it really should be.  I am not a good partner in it because I let the flesh take over.  That is another barrier into the relationship that is in between God and I.

So lately, I have let God prune all those dead branches out to make room for the healthy branches to produce good fruits.  I have searched my hurt who I have hurt and how I have treated fellow believers and non-believers.  I have found that I have a lot of pruning  to do.  I want my faith genuine and producing good fruits that represents  God.

I pray that each day goes by I can look back and see God glorified in each one of those days.  I want to be able to see those good fruits produced and maybe some I may never see in my lifetime.  I want my kids to see what kind of example that God wants me to be and how they should live their lives according to God.  I pray that I am a loving wife to my husband and not have barriers between our relationship and allow God be the center of the marriage.

Does your heart need pruning?  Is there dead branches lurking around you?  IF there is then you are hindering your relationship with God because your are not willing to let Him prune your dead branches.  Once you allow God to prune the dead branches then you can produce good fruits.

John 15:1-8

1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit He prunes,  so that it will be even more fruitful. 3You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.  No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the Vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me.

5“I am the Vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7If you remain in Me and My Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. 8This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be My disciples.
